Defining and Constructing the Elements of a Junk Journal is taught by local artist, Kathleen Hodges.
This workshop includes two days of classroom time (Tuesday and Wednesday 6:00-8:30 p.m.) and a spot in the Brighton Light House Open Art Studio on Thursday, June 17th for students who would like additional time to work on their journals. Kathleen will also be in attendance.
This session is designed to introduce the concept, elements and construction of a one signature junk journal.
Throughout this session, you will:
Learn the elements of a junk journal including: signature, binding, pocket, tag, tuck, belly band, journaling spot, embellishment and ephemera
Construct a junk journal that includes a cover, closure, signature, a three hole binding and embellishments
Utilize different glues, a tear ruler, a crop-a-dile, eyelets and hole punches
Learn how to incorporate different types of embellishments
